Bars 1/21/08

Please post on your  state websites.

This is in reference to the following changes made to raise the value of the #4.204 (long swing forward with 1/2 turn and flight over the low bar - hang on low bar  to bail) to a "C" whenever it is performed immediately following a D or E release element.

Question:  Does this rule apply to Level 9's D's that are awarded C's?  Would this be a C+C combination or would it be a C + B?

Answer from WTC:
We have always had the philosophy that a Level 9 should not have an advantage by doing D skills.  Since we do not recognize D's at Level 9 then the release is considered a C.  Therefore the overshoot is only a B.  She would receive credit for doing a C+B with no bonus.

Connecting Elements in an Acro Series:

The following series is considered Non-Connectable, regardles sof how
quickly they are performed: Back Walkover (or back handspring step-out) to
Round-off (or cartwheel).

In this example, the first element lands on one foot, then the second
foot is placed on the beam behind in a lunge; the gymnast then leans
forward to initiate a Round-off (or cartwheel).

The only way that these two elements could connect legitimately is by
landing the first element on one leg and swinging the other leg forward to
step into the Round-off (or cartwheel)
